The director takes the lead in organizing 7th and 8th grade boys and girls sports, by recruiting coaches and players, scheduling the games, hiring referees, organizing the home games with concessions, providing equipment, paying league fees, etc. The Athletic Director is supported by the Athletic Board.
Holy Trinity Athletic Committee Guidelines
The Holy Trinity Athletic Committee: oversees and manages athletics within the Parish and School; acts on behalf of the Parish Council; is subject to the Parish Finance Committee oversight; respects the authority of the Pastor and Principle; works towards the common goals of the Parish and School; shall cooperate with all Parish organizations, especially the School Advisory Board and the Home and School organization; and is expected to understand and respect the role of all parish organizations, and administration.
The body consists of no less than three or more than five members. A member of the Committee is encouraged to attend the Parish Council’s monthly meetings in order to maintain proper communication between the two Councils. New members are nominated by a current member of the Parish Council or Athletic Committee and voted on by the Committee for recommendation to the Parish Council. Parish Council may approve or deny membership. Membership is voluntary so members may resign at any time, but are expected to do so in a manner that provides a smooth transition for the committee. Members may be relieved from the committee by the committee should they become negligent in their duties or act in a manner contrary to these guidelines. The Committee shall meet when necessary or at least twice per year.
The Committee shall appoint one of the members to serve as the Athletic Director who acts as the point person for the Committee and directs the members of the committee who are expected to actively participate in the duties of the Committee and assist the Director.
The Director and Committee shall take the lead in organizing 7th and 8th grade boys and girls sports, by recruiting coaches and players, scheduling the games, hiring referees, organizing the home games with concessions, providing equipment, paying league fees, etc.
The Athletic Committee shall encourage parents and students at all grade levels develop teams, however the role of the Committee is reduced to management, oversight and financial support.
The Athletic Committee is funded by fees, gates, concessions and fund raising efforts. All income for Holy Trinity athletic events is to be collected by the Athletic Committee, and used to fund the duties of the Committee.
The Director shall keep these guidelines to be reviewed and updated by Committee and Council annually or as needed.
